If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve heard of The Ballet Method™, but you’re not quite sure what it is or whether it might be a good fit! Keep reading to learn more about our program and how it’s transforming the way dance studios approach their ballet classes.
The Ballet Method™ is a curriculum and teacher training program, with modules and resources that can be used a la carte or all together. It’s for instructors who want to deepen their understanding of pedagogy, streamline their approach to teaching ballet, and expand their personal library of resources.
We believe that every child—with any body type, at any age—can learn to love the style and structure of ballet. We want to show you how to develop true artists in your ballet classes, even with your youngest students!
With the most essential classical ballet styles at its core, each module of The Ballet Method™ includes a mix of age-appropriate steps and body positions, designed to be introduced in a safe and imaginative way to increase your students’ knowledge, skills, and artistry.
With our programming, there are three different options for teachers to utilize. Implement just one of these options to begin creating a stronger ballet program, or implement all three to revolutionize your approach!
1) Our Written Curriculum Manuals
These comprehensive, downloadable books show you exactly which steps to introduce with which age groups. Each manual also explains how to teach those steps in easy-to-understand increments so your students can learn through correct repetition and progression. These manuals are available in seven developmentally-based modules, as well as pre-pointe and pointe.
2) Our Video Library of Class Exercises
As the newest addition to our program, our video library is fast becoming the most popular option to use The Ballet Method™! These uploaded videos can be used as a supplement to our written curriculum, or independently as reference material when creating lesson plans. Designed to show a student demonstration of every step, the videos also include sample exercises to articulate tempo and phrasing. Our module for ages 7-10 is already available, and our pre-pointe and pointe modules are being released THIS WEEK! Other modules are coming soon.
3) Our Teacher Training Workshops
If face-to-face learning is more your style, we can come to you! Our in-studio workshops can be taught based on our four developmentally-based modules, including ages 2-6, ages 7-10, ages 11-13, and ages 14-18. We offer an intensive 14-hour training session to cover all four modules, customizable for your studio’s needs.
If you are looking to prioritize your students’ ballet education and invest in high-quality teacher training, then The Ballet Method™ may be the answer you’ve been looking for! Through our proven teaching techniques, tools, and resources, you’ll feel confident introducing a strong classical ballet foundation to every student in your classroom.
